Read our descriptions of all the best things to do below, with tips, tricks,
and info you won't find anywhere else!
Strange/Unique: Central Florida is also the place
where you can get an up close look at the Space Shuttle, meet some astronauts,
communicate with a dead loved one, trek into a massive sinkhole-turned-state-park,
or just let your car roll uphill while its in neutral.
Kennedy Space Center: You'll be sure to
see one of the many billboards advertising the home of the country's
space program, Kennedy Space Center. The Space Center features an extravagant
visitor's center, and always has actual astronauts on hand to
meet and greet you in person!
Cassadaga: Have you ever heard of a town founded
by and full of psychics and mediums? Well folks, welcome to Cassadaga,
Florida. Founded in the 1800's by a spiritualist, every resident
in this tiny town is a psychic or medium. Cassadaga is located halfway
between Orlando and New Smyrna Beach, so if you do decide to visit,
plan on stopping on your way to the beach!
Devil's Milhopper: This old sinkhole located
just outside of Gainesville, about two hours north of Orlando, has been
turned into a state park. A walkway was constructed down into the bottom
of it, and during your walk down you'll enjoy picturesque scenery,
a meandering creek, and get a good look at trees' and shrubs'
root systems
Spook Hill: Located just about an hour from
Disney in the Winter Haven area you'll find Spook Hill. It's
right next to Spook Hill Elementary School! Local legend holds that
you can park your car at the bottom of this magical hill, put it in
neutral, and it will roll itself uphill. It's worked for some
of us, and not for others, although it has been featured on numerous
TV programs. Back to the local legend—something about an Indian
and an alligator. The legend is posted at the bottom of spook hill.
