1. How far are the homes from Disney, Sea World, and Universal?
a. Our homes are all less than 15 minutes from these major attractions.
2. What do I need to bring with me?
a. Towels and linens, cooking and eating utensils are all provided.
One roll of toilet paper per bathroom is provided. You may want
to bring oversized pool towels with you, as well as a package of
toilet paper, and food. There are numerous grocery stores between
I-4 and our check in office which sell all three of these items.
For your convenience, we've created a packing list which you can download by clicking here.
3. Where do I check in?
a. Mouse Pads maintains several different welcome centers, and we
will send you directions to the welcome center that is closest to
the home that you have reserved. Some of our homes are equipped with
a keyless entry system, and whenever possible we will send you
directions to arrive directly at the vacation home or townhome and
enter using a 4 digit code which we will supply you with, eliminating
the need for an extra stop at a welcome center. Arrival directions
will be emailed and mailed to you two weeks prior to your arrival
date, or within 48 hours if you are making a reservation for an arrival
within two weeks.
4. What time is check in and check out time?
a. Check in is at 4:00pm, and check out is at 11:00am.
5. Is express check in/check out available?
a. Yes! For an extra fee of $50.00 we can provide you with directions
straight to the house, as well as an electronic or "lockbox" code with
which you can gain access to the home. In this case, you will not need
to stop by our office upon arrival or departure.
6. Is early check in available?
a. Yes! For an extra fee of $40.00 we will make the necessary
arrangements to allow for a 12:00pm check in.
7. Which house will be mine?
a. Due to unforeseeable events and cancellations requiring us to rearrange
our inventory arrangements, and guests attempting to check in directly at
their designated vacation home rather than our check-in center, we typically
do not disclose the exact addresses of the homes until your check in date.
8. How will I find grocery stores or supermarkets?
a. Following our arrival directions, you will pass at least two grocery
stores/markets/supermarkets on the way to our office and your vacation home.
"Publix" is a leading supermarket chain, as well as "Albertsons," "Goodings,"
and "Winn-Dixie."
9. Who owns the homes?
a. Families like yours, who wanted to own a vacation home without the expense,
privately own all of our pool homes and townhomes! Click here to get more
information about how you can own a vacation home and let vacationers pay
for it!
10. Is maid service included in the price?
a. If you're staying at least 5 nights, you won't have to pay a cleaning
or housekeeping fee. We do not have daily or weekly maid service
(except upon request and for an additional fee) but the units are
thoroughly cleaned and sanitized prior to your arrival, and the washers
and dryers included in every unit are free to use.
If you are staying 2, 3, or 4 nights, you will have to pay an additional
cleaning fee, which is clearly displayed during the reservation process.
The cleaning fee ranges in price from $60 to $125, depending on the type
and number of bedrooms in your vacation home or townhome.
11. Why do I have to pay for housekeeping?
a. Housekeeping is charged only on stays of 4 nights or less. If you are
staying at least 5 nights, we will pay for the housekeeping for you. These
fees cover the costs of cleaning and sanitizing the home before and after
each stay.
12. When is the house cleaned and who cleans it?
a. All of our homes are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized by our own team
of professional housekeepers. Homes are cleaned before and after each
arrival, but not during your stay, unless you order a separate "mid-stay clean."
13. What is the tax?
a. State and local taxes are 13% on all charges, including extras such as
housekeeping and pool heat.
14. What will the weather be like during our vacation?
a. It definitely won't be snowing! Our hottest months are usually late
July to late August, and our coldest months are usually mid-December to

15. How do I know if I should get pool heat?
a. We recommend ordering pool heat if you are planning to visit during
October through April. Pool heat during the months of December and
January are a must if you or your children plan to spend a significant
amount of time in the pool. Pool heat is an extra $25 per night and is
available as an option in the reservation process.
16. When and how do I pay for my stay?
a. When you're ready to make a reservation, the only thing you have to
pay for is the first night's rent plus tax. The rest is due two weeks
prior to your arrival. You can make as many or as few payments as you'd
like, it just needs to be paid in full at least two weeks prior to your
arrival date. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and
Discover, as well as personal checks, money orders, and cashiers checks.
Want to rent a super-deluxe-monster home for a month next summer? No
problem. Just make the reservation with everything your heart desires,
and pay as much as you can every weeks. $50 here, $100 there, and by the
time your vacation comes around, you've already paid for it! Mouse Pads
is happy to provide you with the flexibility of setting up your own
payment plan if that's what you prefer!
17. What if I need to cancel?
a. No problem! You can cancel up to two weeks prior to your arrival date, and you only lose a $25 cancellation fee. Everything else you've paid will be refunded back to you. If you cancel within 2 weeks of your arrival date, you would lose only the first night plus tax. We do not offer any refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of arrival.
18. Can I bring a dog or cat?
a. We do allow dogs and cats in some homes, but we must know beforehand
that you're bringing the family pet. Some of our guests have serious
allergies, and for this reason certain homes are reserved for those
traveling with animals. There is a $150.00 non-refundable pet deposit
which is required if you would like to bring your pet. This option is
offered during the reservation process online.
